Everyone loves a great movie! Whether its for the laughs, the tears, or the action; movies are a great way to immerse yourself into another time period or experience the episodes of life that you may have not yet encountered. I personally love watching movies for the FASHION! Taking inspiration from different characters and different time periods can be so much fun. Below, I've listed some of my favorite fashionable films.
Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
This movie gave birth to so many fashion must haves! From 'The Little Black Dress' to the black sunglasses to the well placed accessory; this film showcases some of the most recognized fashion statements of all time.
The Fifth Element (1997)
Jean Paul Gaultier made the costumes for this sci-fi flick... Enough Said!!
Clueless (1995)
With quotes like: "He does dress better than I do, what would I bring to the relationship?" This film is the epitome of Fashion Girl Problems!
Chicago (2002)
Who wouldn't like a musical about a couple of murdering, vaudeville-bound vixens. Although the 2002 edition was remade for the big screen, the oh so important elements of costume and design were not lost! A-Listers like Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones rocked it out in 1920's flapper outfits and sexy, sheer leggings.
Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
When this movie came out, the media focused on the violence of the film. But all the young people really cared about were Bonnie's (Faye Dunaway) hot mod looks, a style still referenced in collections today.
Bringing Up Baby (1938)
Legend has it that on the set of this movie, the producers were upset the Katharine Hepburn wanted to wear trousers; so much so, that they stole them from her! But despite the thieving producers, Boss Lady Hepburn spent the whole day on set in her underwear until her pants were returned! Now that's what I like to call Fashion Commitment!!!
