NYFW x MAO INTERNSHIP

I applied for an internship position at MAO PR in New York City not really knowing whether or not they would accept my application. A few days go by and the next thing you know I’m doing phone interviews and getting my NYFW (New York Fashion Week) schedule sent to me! Everything was happening so fast… but I loved it!

On my first day in New York I decided that I should get familiar with my new route to work as the last thing I wanted was to be late. So, I get dressed in some casual attire and set off on my transit journey. It took me about half an hour to get from my home in Spanish Harlem to the busy streets of Manhattan which was perfect. (A huge upgrade from my 2 hour commute from my home in Brampton to my workplace Downtown Toronto!)

So I’m standing on the cobble stone street admiring the scenery, Alexander McQueen store at my back and DVF on my right. I was in fashion heaven! I decided to go up to my office and introduce myself and I definitely was not prepared for what was going to happen next…

Okay, so I admit I can be pretty stubborn and I love to get what I want, when I want it... But then again, Who doesn't?

Now, because I like what I want when I want it of courrsseee I would write down The Top 12 MOST PERSUASIVE words in the English language!

Finding Lipstick in the perfect shade for your complexion can be pretty tricky... But don't lose hope! I found a perfect reference guide on how to find the perfect lip colour just for YOU!


If you have FAIR SKIN you will look best in pinky nudes. Subtle pale pinks, and cherry reds.


MEDIUM or TANNED COMPLEXIONS are flattered by yellow or orange-based nudes, vibrant pinks and classic tomatoes reds.


If you're a DARKER SKIN TONE you can also benefit from yellow or orange-based nudes, as well as bold berries and fuchsias, and earthy, brick reds.


*TIP* With spring just around the corner a lot of ladies are going to want to try PINK LIPS. If the reference guide seems a little too confusing to follow... Just SMILE; your perfect shade is about the same colour as your gums - no lighter.

Beauty Trend: Eyelashes

Zoey "I wear fake eye lashes more regularly than drag queens and have gone as far as to get semi permanent eyelash extensions! (The aftermath of those def wasn't pretty but, while I had them on I was batting my lashes left, right and center!) I absolutely love long lush lashes... (and a lot more time than we had anticipated) We are genuinely sorry for leaving you guys in the dark and we've missed you dearly! Ugh, it's hard to say goodbye... It's 3:00 am and I'm still up! I've tired doing some unpacking, reading, and then sleeping... But all I can do is toss and turn, whiling thinking about how much I miss my friends and Toronto :'( - I've recently moved out of town for a bit... A few weeks ago my friends threw a surprise going away "gathering" for me, I had no idea... Sooooooo I am a HUGE softy - cried my eyes out for a good 15 minutes...
