NYFW x MAO INTERNSHIP

I applied for an internship position at MAO PR in New York City not really knowing whether or not they would accept my application. A few days go by and the next thing you know I’m doing phone interviews and getting my NYFW (New York Fashion Week) schedule sent to me! Everything was happening so fast… but I loved it!

On my first day in New York I decided that I should get familiar with my new route to work as the last thing I wanted was to be late. So, I get dressed in some casual attire and set off on my transit journey. It took me about half an hour to get from my home in Spanish Harlem to the busy streets of Manhattan which was perfect. (A huge upgrade from my 2 hour commute from my home in Brampton to my workplace Downtown Toronto!)

So I’m standing on the cobble stone street admiring the scenery, Alexander McQueen store at my back and DVF on my right. I was in fashion heaven! I decided to go up to my office and introduce myself and I definitely was not prepared for what was going to happen next…

SO let me begin to tell you guys how BRIGHT this women was! I was sitting where she was and OBVI there isn't enough space for the both of us. When this women got onto the train she had the audacity to TO SIT ON MY LAP - Zoe and Tam were sitting across from me and their eyes widen like they seen a ghost! I was shocked and all I could say was "are you sick????" - Homegirl had nerve to tell ME she isn't going to stand up... :O SERIOUSLY???? Instead of asking me may I sit here, I would've gotten up but instead she wanted to give me a taste of that Yankee attitude! As she is still sitting on my lap, and me not having much of a choice... I had to tell her about herself - letting her know that ikea had full length mirrors!
