8 Rules Fashion Editors Live By

I don't remember where I found this list of rules, but I've had them stored in my phone just to share with YOU!

Rule #1: GO BIG
If you're wearing an eye-grabbing accessory (like an animal-print scarf), let it take center stage by pairing it with understated items.

Rule #2: THINK LIKE A STYLIST
Figure out what look- preppy, mod, grungy - is most you, and make it your signature.

Rule #3: FINISH IT OFF
The fastest, easiest way to pull nay ensemble together: Cinch a Belt Around Your Waist!

Rule #4: BLEND IN (JUST A LITTLE)
Rocking a print? Be sure the rest of your clothing picks up one of the colours in the pattern.

Rule #5: GET TOUGH
Pairing something edgy (a leather jacket) with something feminine (a floral top) always feels fashion forward.

Rule #6: LOVE ARM CANDY
A statement - making bag will instantly take whatever you're wearing to the next level.

Rule #7: BE SHADY
When putting colours together combine two brights or two pastels - not a bright and a pastel.

Rule #8: MIX BASIC AND BLINGY
To avoid looking over-the-top, tone down a super-dressy skirt with a classic shirt.

12 Things To Give Up For Just One Day

Since we are still in the season of Lent (a religious, annual ritual of 40 days worth of Praying and Fasting) I figured that I would make a list of 12 Things To Give Up For Just One Day!

1. The headphones that block out the entire WORLD!
2. Anything you wear that hurts - The wobbly heels, The full body Spanx, the bag big enough  to carry a small child... You catch my drift.
3. The Second Glass of Wine. Actually, the first!
4. Saying "Yes" when you really feel like saying "No"
5. Slouching... Even on the toilet!!!
6. Texting! There is nothing sweeter than the sound of a friends voice ;;)
7. Processed food. Just so you could say you did it!
8. Procrastinating. And, no you can't put it off until next month.
9. Rolling your eyes. Difficult but extremely effective.
10. Listening to music on the radio. Try a talk show or the news... I recommend John Tesh!
11. Updating or visiting any social media website; as in facebook, twitter or tumblr.
12. Your birth control. Ha ha!!! WE KID (no seriously, don't give that up!)

BEAUTY TREND: SPRAY TANS

Spray Tans

Zoey  "Well I totally tan on a regular basis... LOL (jokes) a good tan always makes people look great. There's nothing better than having an even complexion... However I think that spray tans and instant bronzers should be peoples immediate go to's since tanning beds and laying out in the sun does nothing but damage to your skin. Taking care of what you have now is better than searching for that 'fountain of youth' 20 years down the road! Be proactive... Not reactive!"
Reese "Not a fan of spray tans. A friend of mine made me try it once... It's messy and can get a little tricky when having to change positions <--- overall - not for me!"

Jasmine (Model)  "I already have tan skin, but I would love to try it one day!"

Kiki (Health Sciences undergraduate student) "Don't like them because they can be overdone. However, for those who use it in moderation it can fair well."

Janelle Morgan (Event Planner) "When done correctly it can look really good."

Let us know what you guys think!

Find Me My Colour!

Finding Lipstick in the perfect shade for your complexion can be pretty tricky... But don't lose hope! I found a perfect reference guide on how to find the perfect lip colour just for YOU!

If you have FAIR SKIN you will look best in pinky nudes. Subtle pale pinks, and cherry reds.

MEDIUM or TANNED COMPLEXIONS are flattered by yellow or orange-based nudes, vibrant pinks and classic tomatoes reds.

If you're a DARKER SKIN TONE you can also benefit from yellow or orange-based nudes, as well as bold berries and fuchsias, and earthy, brick reds.

*TIP* With spring just around the corner a lot of ladies are going to want to try PINK LIPS. If the reference guide seems a little too confusing to follow... Just SMILE; your perfect shade is about the same colour as your gums - no lighter.

**TIP** If the colour that you bought doesnt come out in the same shade on your lips as it is in the tube, try priming your lips with foundation first then applying the lip colour over top!

Fall into Fall Fashion

It's back to school time again and if you're anything like me you have a hard time letting go of anything having to do with summer... Especially the clothes!

Here are some easy tips on how you can use your summer wardrobe to transition into fall.

1. Pair your cute mini dress or skirt with a blazer or cardigan

2.Trade in your flip flops for a pair of moccasin flats or some killer boots!

3. Layer! Layer some of your summer tanks and tees for a trendy look, or add a Leather Jacket, Vest or Cardigan over top your fav tanks and tees to keep warm in the cool weather!

4. Accessorize - add scarves and hats to your wardrobe for a smooth and easy transition from one season to the next.

5. Change your nail colour from the Bright Neons to Rich Jewel Tones like Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red!!! (Kaa yuuute!!!)

Advice anyone?

My friend has a problem... We call her LuLu.

There is someone that she has been seeing for a little over a year now. She adores him with her life. Loves being with him, talking to him and when their together its like a fairy tale... Now she isn't the type of person who would get hung over guys or much less be interested in someone for more then a few weeks. Lulu expressed to me that she finds it weird that she can see a future (pass 2 months) with this guy...

Their not exclusive... They speak all the time, their both extremely supportive of each others work and goals. They see each other as much as possible (he lives overseas)... A couple months into their relationship she had seen him with another women... Of course he lied about not seeing her when she saw them in public ---> even though he looked right at her. Her problem with that was that he lied. She doesn't care if he was seeing other people cause she was doing the same... Because of that incident she could never trust him and he knows that. She had tired several times to forget about him and cut all ties. When she would slowly move on and he wasn't much of a thought, he would reappear. She promised me that she would be careful and have a back bone when it comes to him.

She told me a couple months later that they have spoke about making the relationship exclusive. They discussed their pro & cons, their situation and how each other felt about one an other. They both agreed on taking it slow...

What do you think she should do?
