The Weekend - If you don't know him by now, it's a name you are sure to be using A LOT in the near future! He is a fresh new face on the Toronto music scene and he is coming to claim the spotlight. All I can say is that every time I listen to him I get taken away into a different world and he leaves me speechless. His music stays steady on repeat and and his soul filled tunes are ones that I can't get out of my head.

Late Night Seranade Gone Wrong

Our friend Tamara has a beautiful voice and we've been beggin' her to pop off in NYC and showcase her talents. After the club we decide we wanna stir up a little trouble and make a few of the NYC boys weak in the knees! So, clearly we use Tam as our weapon of mass destruction ;) Now she starts serenading a curious onlooker, she's gettin' it in and alllll of a sudden this girl comes outta no where and starts tryna compete with Tam for the spotlight LOL. I just love how this video goes from sweet serenade to full out R&B Battle?! Who do you think won? TAMMMM OBVI!!!



P.S. This was at around 4am (were so foolish but I love it!)

Monster in the Subway

Now I'm usually not much of a subway person... The smell, the germs and the fact that its hot as hell down there are complete turn offs. But in order to really get a feel for NYC we decided to get it in! So were walking down into the subway to catch the train and we hear this loud and thunderous booming noise. Now im getting a little freaked out and im just about ready to turn around and just walk the rest of the way in my heels! We decide to thug it out and keep going. My heart starts beating like crazy as we turn the corner to approach the platform. We hang a left and this is what we saw...

Surprisingly, the New York subways were pretty clean and and let's just say we witnessed some very interesting characters down there. I loved every moment of it! Here's some more from our subway adventures.

Alta Moda was present at New York Fashion Week

I was blessed to be able to attend 4 shows this past week for "Nolcha fashion week, New York 2010" - Here are the high lights of my favs...

Vivienne Pash - This collection was very feminine. I love the unique cut of each garments and how the fabrics used draped the models figures perfectly. As a bonus each piece can be worn on many occasions.  

SempreLei - has a hispanic aesthetic. The use of daring colours and carefully placed tassles makes this line fun and flirty, without being too overpowering. The lightweight and   fabrics add to the femininity of each garment. 

Ethical - This collection doesn't have a theme; nonetheless, there are some gorgeous and dynamic pieces! I love that there is a boho-chic mixed with indie aesthetic expressed throughout her line.

I'd like to introduce you to Elowes (L-O-S for those of you who are struggling a bit lol). Elowes is a 19 year old upcoming, *breathes in* rapper, singer, songwriter, director, and photographer hailing from Brooklyn, NY. *exhales* Daaang that's a lot, but if you got it, use it! He's a talented dude if you ask me and he's a face you're gonna want to get familiar with for SUUUURE! He started writing at a very young age, but began freestyling when he was 14, and says he hardly writes anymore. Currently working on a mixtape called, "Tokyo City" with a release date in the near future, and a management deal offered by Sony's Columbia BMI label being finalized, I'd say he's about to make his unique mark in the industry. He's hot, eh?! =p
