I'm a stickler for a full outfit at award shows for guys (suit AND tie) but Common's red polka dot thing - from the angle I don't know if it's a vest, scarf, shawl, etc. - has managed to sway me. The pattern on his suit is really fresh and compliments the polka dots and the plain white shirt. Drake looked fly in his allblackeverything (has to be one word) tux (http://allthings-fresh.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/gram1.jpg). And bowtie of the night goes to Juelz Knowles, Beyonce's nephew, who narrowly beat Mos Def, a stylish man in his own right who happens to be 31 years older than Juelz; too bad I couldn't find a good pic of the little guy's bow.
ReplyDeleteAs for the ladies, what's with the weird shoulders this year? If you don't want to wear a dress, that's cool but do like J-Hud and wear a jacket with shoulders that fit. I usually love Bey's style but she could have passed for a lineman in that jacket (see pic above). And Lady Gaga?! She looks like a cross between a Ninja Turtle and the Hunchback of Notre Dame in last night's green outfit. (http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2010/02/01/alg_grammys_gaga.jpg). My female awards go to Carrie Underwood - who could wear a garbage bag and shine - and Fergie (despite her awful eyebrows); that silver shoulder strap was a nice touch.
Congrats if you're still reading at this point. And I'm out.
